Final Email 12-19-16
Going Away Party |
Wow.
I feel like that is about all I can say right now--wow.
`Wow` because I can`t really believe that my mission is coming to an end and that this is my last email.
`Wow` because soon I`ll actually be with you again.
`Wow` because of the amazing 18 months I`ve had here in Mexico
Haha I`ll stop that before this email gets too dramatically poetic. I just really don`t even know what to say to you all at this point. I can`t type my feeling of amazement and gratitude that I have for my mission. In these 18 months I have learned so much and have seen so much of the love that God the Father and Jesus Christ have for each and every one of us.
I know I`ve shared these scriptures before in emails, but its one of my favorites and is on my mission plaque at home so it just seems right to share right now.
2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid; for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also has become my salvation.
3 Therefore, with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
4 And in that day shall ye say: Praise the Lord, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.
5 Sing unto the Lord; for he hath done excellent things; this is known in all the earth.
6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion; for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
I have been so blessed to have 18 months here in Mexico to declare the Gospel. I have been able to see glimses of salvation. The Lord really has been my strength and my song. Through homesickness, heat, dirt, sweat, fatigue, parasites, chihuahuas, and the whole show I have found more happiness here in living and helping others live the gospel than I have found any where else. That is because the Gospel is the Lord`s instruction manual to happiness.
I won`t pretend that I`m on some higher sphere or righteousness than anyone else for serving a mission. And I don`t want you (namely my family) thinking I`ve neared perfection when I get home. In reality I`m the same person with imperfections, weaknesses, vanities, struggles and all types of problems. But the thing that has changed the most in my time here is I now know many things that before I just believed.
I know that Jesus Christ is the one and only Redeemer of the world. My Redeemer and yours. I`ve learned how personal that is. He really knows you and me. I know it. He has helped me change and repent for so many things and as long as I keep turning to Him, He will keep helping me progress. I know that when He forgives, He forgives and that is the end of it. He doesn`t remember the stains that He has cleaned.
I love you all so much and I am so excited to see you so, so soon. In these my last words to you as a missionary I`m pulling out another big gun (scripture). This ones ether 12:41
41 And now, I would commend you to seek this Jesus of whom the prophets and apostles have written, that the grace of God the Father, and also the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, which beareth record of them, may be and abide in you forever. Amen.
Mom and Dad, I'll see you in 2 days. Everyone else, see you Christmas Eve.
Con todo el amor de mi corazon,
Hermana Hauck

We`re getting down to the final emails... WEIRD!!!!!!
This week was really crazy because we went to Hermosillo for a meeting then stayed an extra day so I could go to the temple with my generation of the mission. It was really special being there with girls that I`ve been with a ton through out my mission like Hna Barton, Hna Ylst, and Hna Quintana.
I can hardly believe that my mission is coming to a close. I have so many emotions going through me.. I am so so SO grateful for all of the experiences I`ve had. I have come to know and love the Savior so much more. I have been able to see miracles and so many blessing. I love Mexico so much. I think it`ll be hard for me to adapt back to culture and food in the states... haha I`ll be eating tacos and tostadas the rest of my life!
Thank you so much to everyone for everything!! I've had so much support on this journey. I`m not done yet and you`ll hear from me one more time before I`m home, but I wanted to tell you these things.
Be safe!!!
Con amor,
Hermana Hauck

This week was pretty great! It`s a bit colder in the mornings and evenings but still gets hot around the middle of the day. And at night it's freeeeezing in our house! But it's nice to not be sweating anymore.
We`re still working on getting investigators to church. This week we planned to pick up Rosi, a new investigator, and take her to church with us but when we got there she and her husband came told us that she couldn`t go because she was born catholic. Kind of sad for that day. Soooo we`re on the move for new investigators still. Keep sending the prayers!!
Con amor,
Hermana Hauck
